Mittelalterliche Warmperiode

Am 27. März dJ postete Dr. Zorita auf der klimazwiebel einen Verweis auf den neuen Newsletter, Vol. 19, No 1, March 2011 des PAGES Programmes . Der 40 Seiten starke Newsletter läuft unter dem Titel "Medieval Climate Anomaly", was mir als Anlass dient, verspätet aber doch einige Bemerkungen dazu zu posten. Im Editorial auf Seite 4 erhalten wir eine kurze Einführung in Entstehung und Gebrauch des Terminus' "Medieval Warm Period" und der anschließenden Ablösung durch die sog. "Medieval Climate Anomaly".  Interessant ist folgender Absatz: A large number of studies on the temporal and regional expresson of the Medieval Warm Period for different parts of the world have followed since the pioneering works of Lamb and LaMarche. ... The time frame is nowadays more commonly referred to as the Medieval Climate Anomaly (MCA). Aus dem Abstract der im Mai in Quaternary International erscheinenden Studie Response of DeltaD values of sedimentary n-alkanes to variations in source water isotope signals and climate proxies at lake Nam Co, Tibetan Plateau , von Günther et al.: The DeltaD values of n-alkanes agree with known climatic events such as the Little Ice Age and Medieval Warm Period showing depleted and enriched DeltaD values, respectively.
